Description

Sferetta threads three spheres onto a single black cord: a polished brass ball above, a sphere of natural Spanish alabaster in the middle, and a second polished brass ball below. The alabaster sphere is 120mm across and the assembly is 220mm from the top of the upper ball to the bottom of the lower one. It is the smallest fitting in this range and it is built to be used in numbers rather than alone.

The integrated LED sits inside the stone sphere, so the alabaster glows while the two brass balls stay solid and reflective at either end of it. That contrast between a lit sphere and two hard mirrored ones is the whole idea, and it reads clearly even at this scale. Hung in a row over an island or in a loose cluster at staggered heights down a stairwell, the repetition does the work that a single larger fitting would.

The balls are polished brass and the sphere is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining and translucency are unique to each piece and a row of them will not match. That variation is the point when they are used in numbers. At 120mm a single pendant is an accent rather than a room light. Rated IP20 for interior use. The cord is black rather than clear, so in a row the verticals read as deliberate lines instead of disappearing, and the spacing between pendants becomes part of the design. Set them level over an island, or stagger the drops down a stairwell.
