Description
This set of three paper Christmas tree decorations brings deep navy blue and a fine line of gold to the branches. Each bauble is made from layers of paper opened out into a honeycomb, so the folds catch the light and give the surface a sculpted, ribbed look. The shape is a rounded onion, wide through the middle and drawn to a neat point at the top and at the base, with every folded edge picked out in gold. Each bauble measures 9cm, a good size for filling the gaps between larger ornaments, and a fine blue cord loop at the top lets it hang straight from a branch.
The three baubles are at home on the Christmas tree, where the dark blue sits well against green needles and alongside gold, brass or warm white lights. They are just as happy away from the tree: hung in a row from a mantelpiece garland, tied to a stair banister, or suspended from a curtain pole or a few bare twigs in a tall vase on the dining table. As a matching set, they look good grouped together at slightly different heights, which shows off the honeycomb from every side. The deep blue suits a classic festive scheme or a more pared-back one, and works happily with gold and cream for a richer look.
As paper decorations, they reward a little care. Keep them dry and well away from candles, open flames and direct heat, and dust them gently with a soft dry cloth when needed rather than wiping them. After Christmas, lift each one off by its loop and store the set in a box where nothing will press on it, to help the folds keep their shape. For a balanced tree, we like to space the three baubles evenly around the front at different levels, then let the gold edges catch the glow of the lights.

How big is each bauble?
Each of the three baubles measures 9cm, a handy size for filling the spaces between larger ornaments on the tree.
What are these baubles made from?
They are made from paper, folded into a honeycomb pattern, with every folded edge finished in a fine line of gold.
How many baubles come in the set?
The set brings three matching baubles. All three share the same deep navy blue, the same gold edges and the same rounded onion shape.
How do the baubles hang?
Each bauble has a fine blue cord loop at the top, so it hangs easily from a tree branch, a hook or a garland.
What colour are they exactly?
They are a very dark navy blue with gold along the folded edges, a colour that sits well against green branches and warm lights.
How should I look after paper baubles?
Keep them dry and away from flames and heat, dust them gently with a soft dry cloth, and store them boxed after Christmas so they are not crushed.
