Description

The Serava Small is a 1000mm asymmetric pendant light formed from a continuous tube of natural Spanish alabaster, shaped into a flowing sculptural curve that loops back on itself. The alabaster section is 100mm in diameter and houses an integrated 3000K LED that runs the length of the stone. Three slim copper stems with brushed brass cable caps suspend the form from the ceiling, secured at three points by tan brown leather belts wrapped around the alabaster.

Designed as a sculptural feature for kitchen islands, dining tables, hallways and stairwells, the Serava casts soft directional light from the underside of the stone while the asymmetric geometry shifts in appearance from every viewing angle. The 1500mm cable drop is adjustable on installation, allowing the piece to be set 700-800mm above a dining surface or higher in entrance halls and double-height spaces. At 500mm wide and 1000mm long, it suits islands or tables of 1.4m and above without overpowering the surface.

Each alabaster section is cut and polished from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, mineral inclusions and translucency vary between pieces. The warm 3000K LED reveals the stone's internal structure, with caramel and grey veins becoming visible only when illuminated. The tan leather belts and brushed brass caps soften the contrast against the pale alabaster, giving the pendant a tactile, artisanal character rather than a strictly architectural one.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each section is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining patterns, mineral colouring and translucency differ between individual pieces. The variation is most visible when the LED is on, and is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

What surface size does the Serava Small suit?

At 1000mm long and 500mm wide, it works above kitchen islands, dining tables and hallway consoles of approximately 1.4m and above. For larger islands or longer tables, the piece can be installed in pairs along the length of the surface.

Can the drop be adjusted?

The 1500mm cable length is adjustable on installation. For a kitchen island or dining table the pendant typically sits 700-800mm above the surface; in entrance halls or stairwells it can hang lower or higher depending on ceiling height.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Alabaster is porous and softer than marble, so avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners. The tan leather belts can be wiped with a barely-damp cloth and treated occasionally with a neutral leather conditioner.
