Serava LED Alabaster Asymmetric Suspension Light - Brown & Soft White

The Serava is a 1380mm sculptural suspension light built around a single sweeping length of natural Spanish alabaster, carved into an asymmetric looping form roughly 100mm in section. The stone is suspended by three brown leather belts that fasten through brushed brass cylindrical canopies, with an integrated 3000K LED running through the alabaster to glow warmly along its full length.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, stairwell voids and entrance halls with sufficient ceiling height, the Serava reads as a sculptural object as much as a light source. The asymmetric curve means it engages from any approach angle, whether viewed from below, across a room or from a mezzanine looking down. The 1500mm cable allows the piece to drop substantially below the canopy, suiting double-height spaces and longer dining tables where horizontal spread matters as much as vertical drop.

Each alabaster section is cut from natural Spanish stone, so the veining, mineral inclusions and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. The three brushed brass canopies and tan leather belt suspension introduce a warm material contrast against the pale stone, with stitched leather detailing visible along each strap. The combined materials, solid copper stems, brass canopies, hand-cut alabaster and leather, give the fitting a tactile, hand-finished character rather than a machined contemporary look.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each section is hand-cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and only becomes fully visible once the integrated LED is illuminated.

What ceiling height does the Serava need?

With a 1500mm cable length and the alabaster body itself measuring around 100mm in section, the piece is best suited to ceilings of 2.7m or higher. The cable can be shortened on installation to suit lower ceilings, though some of the sculptural drop will be lost.

Is the LED replaceable?

The LED is integrated into the fitting and runs at 3000K on 230V mains. As with most integrated LED suspension lights, the LED module is not user-replaceable. The Serava carries a 2-year warranty against component failure.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid water, household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, as these can stain or etch the surface. The leather belts can be wiped with a dry cloth and treated occasionally with a neutral leather conditioner.
