Description

The Seraph is a 2 light wall light built around a curved metal frame with a hand-painted dark brown antique finish, housing two E14 candle bulb fittings on brass-toned candle cups. The frame forms a teardrop-shaped outer loop that rises from a circular wall plate, with two inner arms curving out symmetrically to hold the bulb positions at equal height either side of the central plate.

Designed for hallways, staircases and reception rooms in traditional, country and transitional interiors, the Seraph provides direct upward light from the candle bulbs plus reflected light from the wall behind. The 370mm projection brings the bulbs forward from the wall, giving clearance for picture rails and cornicing. The 360mm width suits standard wall bay widths between doorways and windows in Victorian and Edwardian properties.

The dark brown finish is applied by hand over a base metal frame, with deliberate tonal variation across the surface to mimic aged metalwork. The curved wire sections are formed from solid metal rod rather than hollow tube, giving the fitting a more substantial weight and rigidity than stamped-sheet alternatives. The brass-toned candle cups and threaded sleeves contrast with the darker frame, picking up warm light tones from the bulbs when lit.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Seraph take?

The fitting takes two E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with candle-shaped LED bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to suit the traditional aesthetic. Maximum wattage depends on bulb type — check the rating label on the fitting.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, the Seraph is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs. The dimmer must be rated for the total wattage of both bulbs combined and matched to the bulb technology (LED, halogen or filament).

What wall fixing is needed?

The circular back plate has two or more screw holes for fixing to a standard wall. On plasterboard walls, use appropriate wall anchors or toggle fixings rated for the weight of the fitting. On masonry, standard wall plugs and screws are sufficient.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the Seraph is suitable for dry indoor locations only. It is not rated for bathroom zones or any space where water spray or high humidity is present.
