Description

The Knightsbridge 6-gang grid faceplate is a 148mm square cover plate in smoked bronze, designed to fit over modular grid inserts in Knightsbridge's screwless grid system. The plate clips onto a separate sub-frame (GDS003F, sold separately) that holds the individual grid modules, meaning there are no visible screws or fixings on the installed plate.

Built for installations where multiple switches, sockets, dimmers or data modules need to be grouped in a single wall plate, the 6-gang format accommodates six grid modules in a 2x3 configuration. The smoked bronze finish provides a darker metallic tone that sits between graphite and bronze, pairing well with contemporary interiors, industrial schemes and dark wood joinery. The premium steel construction holds shape under repeated clipping and removal without warping.

The 3.5mm projection from the wall gives a low-profile finish compared to traditional screw-fixed plates. The plate measures 148mm square, covering a standard 2-gang UK back box when used with the appropriate grid sub-frame. IP20 rating means it's suitable for dry indoor locations but not bathrooms or outdoor settings. The plate carries a 25-year warranty from Knightsbridge.

What sub-frame is required?

This faceplate requires one GDS003F grid sub-frame, sold separately. The sub-frame fixes to the back box and holds the individual grid modules, then this cover plate clips over it to hide the fixings.

How many modules does it hold?

Six grid modules in a 2x3 arrangement. Each module slot accepts any standard Knightsbridge grid insert — switches, sockets, dimmers, USB outlets, data modules or blanks.

Can the plate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The screwless plate clips onto the sub-frame and can be unclipped for painting or wallpapering around the installation, then re-clipped without touching the wiring.
