The Knightsbridge 2-gang grid faceplate is an 88mm square polished chrome cover plate designed for the screwless grid system. The faceplate clips onto a GDS001F modular frame (sold separately), which holds up to two grid modules such as switches, dimmers, data sockets or blank plates in a single 2-gang installation point.

Designed for residential and commercial installations where modular flexibility is needed, the grid system allows installers to configure custom switch and socket combinations without needing separate back boxes for each function. The screwless design means no visible fixings on the wall once the faceplate is clipped into place, giving a cleaner finish than traditional screw-fixed plates. The 3.5mm projection keeps the plate close to the wall surface.

The polished chrome finish is mirror-bright and provides a cool metallic accent that pairs well with contemporary, minimalist and industrial interiors. The premium-grade steel construction holds its finish and resists tarnishing over time. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only. The faceplate carries a 25-year warranty.

What is the GDS001F frame and do I need one?

The GDS001F is a metal sub-frame that mounts to the back box and holds up to two grid modules (switches, dimmers, data sockets, blanks). This faceplate clips onto that frame to conceal the fixings. You need one GDS001F frame per 2-gang installation, plus the individual grid modules for the functions you want.

Can this faceplate be used with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate is designed exclusively for the Knightsbridge screwless grid system. It will not fit standard rocker switches, standard sockets, or other manufacturers' grid systems.

What other finishes are available?

Can the faceplate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The faceplate clips onto the GDS001F frame and can be unclipped for painting around the installation point, then re-clipped without disturbing the wiring or grid modules behind it.
