Description

The Knightsbridge 2-gang grid faceplate is an 88mm square anthracite cover plate designed for use with the Knightsbridge Screwless Grid System. It accepts two grid module positions, allowing a custom configuration of switches, sockets, data outlets, or media modules behind a single screwless faceplate. The anthracite finish is a dark charcoal grey with a low-sheen powder coat over premium-grade steel.

The grid system separates the faceplate from the functional modules, so the same plate can accommodate different combinations — two light switches, one switch and one USB socket, a dimmer and a data outlet, or any other pairing of compatible grid modules. This faceplate requires one GDS001F grid frame (sold separately) to mount the modules behind it. Once installed, the screwless cover clips onto the frame with no visible fixings on the wall.

The 88mm footprint matches standard UK double-gang back box dimensions and the 3.5mm projection keeps the plate nearly flush with the wall. The anthracite finish pairs with industrial, contemporary and monochrome interiors where darker tones are preferred over white or metallic finishes. The premium steel construction carries a 25-year warranty and an IP20 rating for general indoor use.

What modules does this faceplate accept?

This faceplate accepts any two modules from the Knightsbridge Grid System range, including light switches, dimmers, sockets, USB outlets, data modules, and media outlets. You will also need one GDS001F grid frame to mount the modules behind the faceplate.

Is the GDS001F frame included?

No. The GDS001F grid frame is sold separately. The faceplate is a cosmetic cover only and does not include the mounting frame or any functional modules.

What back box is required?

A standard UK 2-gang 35mm back box is required. The 88mm faceplate dimensions match the UK double-gang standard.

Can the screwless plate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The anthracite cover plate clips onto the grid frame and can be removed without tools for painting around the installation, then re-clipped once the wall is dry.
