Description

The Knightsbridge 1-gang grid faceplate is an 88mm square screwless cover plate in smoked bronze, designed to fit over a separate GDS001F sub-frame (sold separately) and house a single modular grid accessory module. The smoked bronze finish is a dark gunmetal with subtle warm undertones, providing a contemporary alternative to matt black or polished finishes.

Used exclusively with Knightsbridge's screwless grid system, the faceplate clips onto the sub-frame once the grid module is installed, concealing all fixing screws and giving a clean wall finish. The grid system allows mixing and matching of modules — data sockets, USB chargers, TV outlets, satellite connections, switches and dimmers — within a single faceplate, making it suitable for home offices, AV installations, kitchen splashbacks and hospitality projects where modular flexibility is needed.

The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a low-sheen smoked bronze coating that resists fingerprints better than high-gloss finishes. At 3.5mm projection from the wall once fitted, the plate sits nearly flush with the surface. The 25-year warranty covers the finish and the clip mechanism that secures the faceplate to the sub-frame.

What sub-frame is required?

This faceplate requires a Knightsbridge GDS001F 1-gang grid sub-frame, which is sold separately. The sub-frame fixes to the back box and accepts a single grid module before the faceplate clips on top.

What grid modules fit this faceplate?

Any single-width Knightsbridge grid module — data sockets (RJ45, RJ11), USB chargers, coaxial TV outlets, satellite F-type sockets, HDMI modules, switches and dimmers. The module slots into the sub-frame before the faceplate is clipped into place.

Can the faceplate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The screwless cover plate clips onto the sub-frame and can be unclipped for painting or wallpapering around the socket, then re-clipped without disturbing the grid module or wiring.
