The Knightsbridge GDSF001PC is a 1-gang screwless grid faceplate in polished chrome, designed to hold a single modular grid insert from the Knightsbridge grid system. The faceplate measures 88mm square with a 3.5mm projection from the wall once fitted, and clips onto a separate 1-gang grid frame (GDS001F, sold separately) to create a screwless finish with no visible fixings.

The grid system allows individual switch, socket, or data module inserts to be mixed and configured within a single faceplate, making it suitable for custom installations in residential, hospitality and commercial settings where specific combinations of power, lighting control, USB charging, or AV connections are needed at a single wall point. The polished chrome finish coordinates with the wider Knightsbridge screwless switches and sockets range.

The faceplate is constructed from premium-grade steel with a bright polished chrome plating that provides a reflective, mirror-like surface. The IP20 rating confirms the faceplate is suitable for dry indoor environments but not for bathroom zones or outdoor use. The 25-year warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and finish under normal residential or light commercial use.

What is the grid system and how does it work?

The Knightsbridge grid system uses separate faceplates and modular inserts that clip into a metal grid frame mounted to the back box. This faceplate holds one insert. You need the GDS001F 1-gang frame (sold separately) and a compatible grid module insert such as a switch, socket, dimmer or data module to complete the installation.

Is this compatible with standard switches and sockets?

No. This faceplate only works with Knightsbridge modular grid inserts, not with standard wiring accessories. If you need a screwless faceplate for a standard switch or socket, use the corresponding product from the Knightsbridge screwless flat plate range instead.

Can the faceplate be removed for redecorating?

Yes. The faceplate clips onto the grid frame and can be removed without disturbing the wiring. This allows you to paint or wallpaper around the installation and re-clip the plate once finished.
