Description

The Sarnarra is a linear pendant light with six smoked glass shades hanging from a long oval ceiling plate in black steel. Some shades are tall bottle shapes and others are low, flat domes, and they hang at different heights, so the group reads as a loose cluster rather than a tidy row. The vaporised glass is smoked towards the top and clears towards the rim, letting the light show through softly. It measures 128cm long, 54.5cm wide and 150cm high overall. Each shade has its own integrated LED of 5.4W giving 510 lumens at 2700K, a warm white, and because the LEDs are built in there are no bulbs to buy. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in dry rooms.

Its long, narrow shape suits a dining table or kitchen island, where the plate follows the length of the surface and the shades spread light along it. It also works above a sideboard or in an open-plan living space that wants a focal point, provided the ceiling is high enough for its overall height of 150cm. The black and smoked glass palette sits comfortably with dark woods, brushed brass or crisp white walls, and the tinted glass keeps the fitting looking finished even when unlit. Being dimmable, it can go from bright enough for cooking or homework to a low glow for a long dinner.

The body is steel finished in black, and the shades are vaporised glass, black-transparent fading to clear. There is no switch on the light itself, so it is controlled from your wall switch. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and is wired into the ceiling, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. The packed weight is 12.836KG, so it is worth having a second person on hand when unpacking.
