Description

A long upholstered ottoman, 113cm by 68cm and 43cm high, covered in a woven stripe of fine dark lines over a natural linen ground. The stripes run the short way across the top and carry on over the rolled edge and down the sides without a break. The padding is deep enough that the top turns in a soft curve rather than a corner, and the fabric gathers into small pleats where it meets the underframe. Four turned wooden legs stand at the corners, cut to a rounded baluster on a narrow foot.

At 113cm long it will sit in front of a two or three seat sofa and take the feet of two people, or stand in as a low table with a tray set on it. The top is 43cm from the floor and 68cm deep, so there is room to sit on it end to end as well as to rest on it. It sits centred in front of a sofa with a walking gap left between the two.

The frame is mango wood and the cover is linen. The stripe is woven in rather than printed, a faded dark line against the natural ground of the linen. The legs are turned from wood and left pale against the upholstery. The top does not open and there is no storage inside it: the Sanja range carries a separate upholstered storage bench for that, and also runs to an armchair and a bed in the same stripe.

Linen, with the stripe woven in rather than printed.

Is the armchair the same fabric?
