Description

An upholstered bench 124cm long, 38cm deep and 44cm high. The top is a single padded seat in natural cotton, woven with narrow grey stripes running across the width and set close together, and it rolls over at the long edges with no seam showing along the sides. It sits on four turned mango wood legs, each cut with a ring near the top and tapering to a plain foot.

At 124cm the bench spans the end of a double bed without reaching past it. 44cm is a sitting height rather than a table height, so it also takes a hallway wall or a spot under a window, and at 38cm deep it stands clear of a walking line. The legs are set in from the corners and leave the floor visible underneath.

The seat is cotton over padding and the legs are mango wood, shaped by hand and assembled with the frame by the makers. The stripe is woven into the fabric rather than printed on the surface, so it runs through the weave and does not sit on top of it. There is no storage under the seat.
