Description

The Sampio is a compact wall spotlight made from brass: a slim rectangular backplate, a short arm and a single cylindrical head that pivots so you can aim the light where you want it. It is lit by an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to buy or change. The backplate is 14cm tall and 4cm wide, and the spotlight projects between 7cm and 11.5cm from the wall. It comes in Matt Black, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Black, White, Polished Brass and Satin Brass. The painted finishes are matched to RAL colours, with Black and Matt Black in RAL 9005 and White in RAL 9010.

A single directional spot on a narrow plate is useful wherever you want light on one place rather than across a whole room. In a kitchen it can pick out a run of open shelves, a stretch of worktop or a picture on the wall, and because it projects only a short way it sits neatly in tight spots. A small rocker switch is set into the lower part of the backplate. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: it is not for a bathroom or anywhere it could be splashed, which in a kitchen means keeping it clear of the sink and hob. It is an indoor light.

Each Sampio is made to order for you, in Ireland, from brass in the finish you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered, though this spotlight runs on an integrated LED rather than a bulb. It is a mains fitting, to be wired in by a qualified electrician. Because every one is made to order and wired in place, it is worth settling the finish and the exact spot on the wall before you order, so the light lands where you want it.
