The Samara is an oval coffee table that gives you a generous surface without taking over the room. It measures 130cm wide, 70cm deep and 42cm high, which is a comfortable height to sit alongside most sofas and chairs. At 17kg it feels solid and stays put once you have it in place, yet it is still manageable when you want to move it.

The frame is made from metal and MDF, finished in a warm oxide brown. The top is MDF with a high-resistance melamine surface in a travertine finish, so you get the look of natural stone with a practical everyday top. The edges pick up the same oxide brown as the frame, tying the two tones together.

This table suits a living room or snug where you want somewhere to rest drinks, books and the odd tray. The melamine top is hard-wearing and wipes clean, which makes it a sensible choice for busy homes. We would keep it away from constant direct sunlight and mop up spills before they sit, and it needs no more than an occasional wipe to stay looking its best.
