Description

The Salma dome pendant light is a single-light fitting with a generous matt white dome shade, 57cm across and 33cm tall, hung from a textile cable 1.5m long. Its rounded dome sends the light downward, and the smooth matt white finish keeps the shape clean and calm. It takes one E27 lamp, which is not included, so you can choose the lamp that suits the room, from a warm glow over a table to a brighter light over a desk. It runs on 220-240V and works from an ordinary on-off switch.

With its simple dome and industrial lines, the Salma sits comfortably in modern and industrial interiors alike. At 57cm across it has the presence to hang over a dining table or a large desk, and it works well in a hallway, on a landing or in a living room where one larger pendant does more than several small ones. Matt white is an easy colour to live with: it looks at home against pale walls, concrete, exposed brick or dark paint. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors.

The Salma is built on a brass structure, with a round 12cm ceiling canopy and a textile cable that suits its industrial character. The matt white finish gives the dome a soft, even surface with no shine, so it reads as a calm block of colour whether the light is on or off. It is a mains fitting, so it is for a qualified electrician to install, and it carries a 2 year guarantee. For styling, we like it hung centrally over a dining table, where the wide dome frames the table and keeps the light where you eat; pair it with timber, black metal or natural linen for a relaxed industrial look.
