Description

The Salerno is a 103x77cm rectangle wall mirror with a dual-tone wooden frame in grey and silver. The frame uses a stepped profile that creates an inner grey border and an outer silver border, giving the mirror a defined architectural edge without requiring a separate mount. The 2cm total depth keeps the mirror close to the wall while the stepped frame adds visual interest by creating shadow lines between the two finishes.

Designed for living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms needing a vertical mirror at above-waist height, the Salerno works as an overmantel mirror, a dressing mirror beside a wardrobe, or a feature mirror on a hallway wall. The 103cm height suits most residential ceiling heights without dominating the wall, while the 77cm width provides enough reflective surface to visually open a 3-4m room. The dual-tone frame pairs with grey-toned contemporary interiors and transitional schemes that mix cool neutrals with warmer wood or brass accents.

The grey tone in the frame is a mid-charcoal with a matt finish that absorbs rather than reflects ambient light, while the silver has a low-lustre metallic finish that catches more light without being glossy. The wood construction gives the frame a 15kg weight that requires appropriate wall fixings — a single central keyhole bracket or two D-rings will support the load on a masonry wall with appropriate plugs and screws. The mirror glass itself is standard float glass with a polished edge, protected by the frame's projection.

Frequently Asked

Can this mirror be hung horizontally as well as vertically?

Yes. The frame is symmetrical, so the mirror can be mounted in either orientation depending on the wall space and the intended use. Vertical suits dressing and full-length viewing; horizontal works well above a sideboard or fireplace.

What fixings are needed for a 15kg mirror?

On a solid masonry or brick wall, use wall plugs rated for at least 20kg with appropriately sized screws. On plasterboard, use specialist plasterboard fixings rated for the weight or locate wall studs and fix directly into timber. The mirror may have keyhole brackets on the reverse or D-rings for hanging.

Is the mirror suitable for a bathroom?

The wood frame is not moisture-sealed, so in a bathroom with high humidity or direct water exposure (shower splash zones) the frame may warp or the finish may degrade over time. The mirror is better suited to well-ventilated bathrooms or those where it will not be directly exposed to steam.

How is the frame cleaned?

Wipe the frame with a dry or barely-damp microfibre cloth. For the mirror glass, use standard glass cleaner but avoid letting liquid run onto the wood frame. Do not use spray furniture polish on the grey or silver finishes as this may leave streaks or alter the sheen.
