Description

The Sakti Vase is a round, flat-bodied vase topped with a small flared neck, finished in white and gold. Most of the body carries a soft whitewashed white, brushed on so the strokes still show, while a carved spiral panel sweeps across the front in a warm, golden tan. The spiral is cut as rows of short, curved marks that turn in towards the centre, picked out in white against the tan, so the pattern reads clearly from across a room. It stands 31cm high, 30cm long and 8cm wide, and weighs 1.51KG.

Because the body is so slim from front to back, this vase suits the places a rounder one would crowd: a mantelpiece, a narrow shelf, a hall console or a windowsill. The broad round face does the work, so it sits happily on its own as a decorative piece, or with a few dried grasses or a single dried stem in the narrow neck. The neutral palette of white and warm tan sits comfortably alongside pale wood, linen, stone and natural textures, and suits a living room, bedroom or hallway alike.
