Sahar Mango Wood Floor Lamp Base - Dark Stain

The Sahar in dark stain is the same shape as the natural one and a different object to look at. A round disc foot with a rounded edge, a single column tapering from the foot up to the lampholder, and a stain deep enough to read almost black across the room. Close to, the grain comes through in redder streaks where the wood took the stain unevenly, and the turning marks are still visible along the column. It stands 138cm on a foot 31.5cm across, with a black flex and a foot switch on the cord.

Colour is the whole difference in use. The pale version recedes into a light room; this one holds a corner and reads as a vertical line against a wall, which suits a room with dark furniture or a wall colour that would swallow natural wood. At 138cm the lampholder sits above seated head height so the bulb stays hidden. It takes one E27 bulb up to 60W, the flex runs 3.5m, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Each column is turned by hand and then stained, so the depth of colour varies between bases and the open grain takes it more deeply than the smooth faces. At 3.32kg it is heavier than the natural version of the same shape. The Sahar range also holds this base in natural mango wood. No shade and no bulb are included.
