Description
The Rounda is a round recessed downlight running 18W from a 220-240V AC supply, putting out 1260 lumens at a fixed 4000K cool white tone. The 110 degree beam spreads light broadly rather than spotlighting, giving an even wash across the area below. Often listed as a recessed can light in US ranges, it sits flush in the ceiling for a clean, frame-free look. At 80 CRI it gives natural, accurate colour on surfaces and finishes, and the wide beam keeps the lit area free of harsh hotspots.
Each fitting covers around 4 m² at general lighting levels, so a small bathroom, hallway or utility area is comfortably served by one or two units, with more spaced across a larger kitchen or open landing. The IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suited to sheltered spots, including bathroom zones away from direct spray and covered outdoor areas such as a porch or carport. It is not intended for fully exposed positions, direct water jets or submersion. For ceiling installation the cool 4000K output works well in task-led spaces where a crisp, neutral light is wanted over a warmer tone.
Construction is aluminium alloy with a white finish, keeping weight down to 354 g and helping the LED run cool over its rated 15,000 hour life. The fitting mounts recessed into the ceiling, dropping into a cut-out behind the trim, and the driver arrangement is integrated for a self-contained unit. This model is not dimmable, so it pairs with a standard switched circuit rather than a dimmer. The Rounda range includes other sizes and wattages, so a consistent look can be carried across several rooms.

Frequently Asked
Can the Rounda be used in a bathroom?
Yes, its IP44 rating makes it splash-resistant and suitable for bathroom zones away from direct spray, as well as sheltered spots like a porch. Avoid positions exposed to direct water jets or full weather. Always check zone requirements for the area you are fitting it in.
What cut-out size does it need?
The fitting has an overall diameter of 220 mm, and it drops into a recessed cut-out hole in the ceiling. Confirm the exact cut-out dimension on the spec sheet before drilling, as the cut-out is smaller than the visible trim. This keeps the downlight sitting flush once installed.
Is the Rounda dimmable?
No, this model is not dimmable and is designed for a standard switched circuit. Pairing it with a dimmer is not recommended and could cause flicker or shorten its life. It runs at a fixed 1260 lumen output.
How do I clean the fitting?
Wipe the white face and lens with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth, with the light switched off and cool. Avoid abrasive pads or solvents, which can mark the aluminium finish. Regular light dusting keeps the output bright and even.
