Description
The Rounda is a compact round recessed downlight drawing 6W and giving out 330 lumens of crisp 4000K cool white light. With a wide 110 degree beam the light opens out gently rather than spotlighting, so a small ceiling area is washed evenly from a single point. Buyers shopping for a recessed can light in the US market will find this sits in the same family as a small recessed downlight, built to drop neatly into a ceiling void. The fitting measures Ø120 by 20 mm and runs straight off 220-240V AC mains.
At general lighting levels each unit covers around 1 m², so the Rounda works best in numbers across a run rather than as a sole source. It suits smaller spaces such as a hallway, landing, utility, ensuite or porch ceiling, where the IP44 rating allows use in bathroom zones and covered or sheltered outdoor positions like a porch or carport soffit. It is not rated for fully exposed positions, direct water jets or submersion, so keep it clear of unprotected outdoor sites. For an even spread across a ceiling, space several units so their wide beams overlap and avoid dark patches between fittings.
The body is aluminium alloy in a white finish, with the cool white 4000K tone giving a clean, neutral light through the round trim. It carries a combined IP44/20 rating and a slim 20 mm depth, recessing into the ceiling for a flush look, and weighs just 140 g. This version is not dimmable and runs at 55 lm/W with a rated life of 15,000 hours and a CRI of Ra 80. The Rounda range includes further sizes and colour temperatures, so a single look can be carried across several rooms.

Frequently Asked
What size cut-out hole does the Rounda need?
The fitting itself measures Ø120 mm across the trim, and it recesses into the ceiling at a shallow 20 mm depth. You will need a circular cut-out sized to the manufacturer's mounting collar, which sits inside the 120 mm trim diameter, so do not cut the hole to the full trim size. Always check the supplied template before drilling.
Can the Rounda be used in a bathroom or outside?
Yes, within limits. Its IP44/20 rating means it is splash-resistant and suits bathroom zones and sheltered outdoor spots such as a porch or carport soffit. It should not be used in fully exposed positions, exposed to direct water jets or submerged.
Is this downlight dimmable?
No, this version of the Rounda is not dimmable and should be run on a standard non-dimmed circuit. Fitting it to a dimmer switch may cause flicker or shorten its life. If you need adjustable output, choose a dimmable model and a compatible LED dimmer.
How many do I need for a room?
Each unit gives 330 lumens and covers around 1 m² at general lighting levels, so the Rounda is designed to be installed in numbers. As a rough guide, a small ensuite or hallway might use three to four units spaced so the wide 110 degree beams overlap. Increase the count for larger or task-focused areas.
