Description

Our Rose Cylinder Recessed Downlight is a slim cylindrical tube that fixes recessed into a cut-out in the ceiling and sends its light straight down from its open end. It comes in three sizes: 16cm, 25cm and 40cm. The 16cm size has a shade 16cm tall and 4cm across, set in a 5cm trim. The 25cm size has a shade 25cm tall and 4cm across, set in a 5cm trim. The 40cm size has a shade 40cm tall and 4cm across, set in a 5cm trim. Each size holds one GU10 lamp, a standard spotlight cap, rather than a built-in LED. The structure is iron, finished in copper.

Once fitted, only the 5cm trim sits flat against the ceiling, and the copper tube reaches down from it in one clean line. That makes it a tidy choice for a hallway or landing, a living room, a bedroom, or above a dining table, where several in a row give a modern rhythm across the ceiling. The 16cm size suits a lower ceiling, while the 40cm size has the length to hold its own under a higher one. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is an on-off switched fitting for 220-240V mains, so it works from an ordinary wall switch.

The iron body carries its copper finish all the way down the tube, a warm metallic tone that sits well with oak, cream walls and deeper paint colours. It fixes into its ceiling cut-out on spring clips, and as a mains fitting it is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 3 year guarantee.
