Description

These RJ45 strain relief boots fit over standard RJ45 network cable connectors to protect the termination point from mechanical stress caused by repeated cable bending or pulling. Each boot slides over the cable before the RJ45 plug is crimped, then clips onto the rear of the connector after termination to provide a flexible transition between the rigid plug body and the cable jacket.

Designed for both stranded and solid conductor network cables, the boots work with Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a cable types in standard 5-8mm jacket diameters. They are commonly used in AV installations, network patch panels, and any environment where RJ45 connections are subject to frequent movement or where a professional finish is required. The ribbed profile on the boot provides grip and reduces the chance of the cable being pulled out of the connector under load.

Moulded from black flexible PVC, each boot measures 25mm in length, 14mm wide and 14mm high once fitted, adding minimal bulk to the connector. The material is soft enough to flex with the cable but stiff enough to prevent sharp bends immediately behind the plug. Supplied in a pack of 10, suitable for terminating a batch of cables or keeping as spares for field repairs.

Frequently Asked

Are these compatible with all RJ45 plugs?

These boots fit standard 8P8C RJ45 plugs used with Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a cables. They work with most common RJ45 connectors including pass-through and standard crimp types, provided the cable jacket diameter is between 5mm and 8mm.

Do I fit the boot before or after crimping the connector?

The boot must be slid onto the cable before the RJ45 plug is crimped. Once the connector is terminated and tested, slide the boot forward and clip it onto the rear of the plug body.

What cable jacket sizes do they accommodate?

The internal diameter of the boot suits standard network cable jackets between 5mm and 8mm, which covers most Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat6a cables in residential and commercial use.

How many boots are in a pack?

This listing is for a pack of 10 black RJ45 strain relief boots.
