The Rizzo is a rechargeable alabaster table lamp, small enough to carry from room to room and free of any trailing flex once it is charged. A 9cm shade of natural alabaster sits on a cylindrical base in Willow, a muted green, ribbed all over in a gentle spiral. The whole lamp is 16cm tall, and the base is 8cm across and 11cm high. Inside, an integrated LED does the work, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. It gives 250 lumens from 2.2W in a warm white of 3000K, and with a 360° beam the light spreads out through the stone in every direction.

Because it runs on its own battery, it suits anyone who wants light where no socket reaches: the middle of a dining table, a bookshelf, a bedside table or a desk in a home office. A full charge gives 6 hours of light, plenty for a long dinner or a quiet evening. A push button on the base dims it, so you can keep it low and glowing or turn it up when you need more. Its colour rendering index of 90 or more means food, fabrics and skin tones look true beneath it. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

The base is made from recycled wood and PLA, finished in Willow, with fine spiral ribs that are pleasant under the hand. It runs at 3.7V from its rechargeable battery. It comes with its USB Type-C charging cable; the plug is not included. It carries a 3 year guarantee. We like a pair of them together on a sideboard or a mantelpiece, though one on its own against a pale wall lets the soft green and the glow of the stone do all the talking.
