This is the Rizzo, a small cordless table lamp that pairs a natural alabaster shade with a recycled wood and PLA base in a Teka finish. The shade is a short white cylinder of stone set on a taller cylindrical base with fine spiral ribbing running round it. It stands 16cm tall: the alabaster shade is 9cm across, and the base is 11cm tall and 8cm across. The light is an integrated LED, so there is no bulb to fit or change. It gives 250 lumens from 2.2W at a warm 3000K, and with a CRI of 90 or more, colours around it look true. The beam angle is 360°, so the alabaster glows all the way round rather than throwing light one way.

Because it runs on its rechargeable battery, the Rizzo goes where there is no socket to hand: a bedside table, a dining table at supper, a bookshelf, a desk or a windowsill in the sitting room. Its battery lasts six hours on a charge, and push dimming on the lamp itself takes it from bright down to a soft glow. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Its small size suits anyone short of table space who still wants a warm light nearby.

The base is recycled wood and PLA in the Teka finish, and its diagonal ribs give it a textured feel against the smooth stone shade. The alabaster has soft natural veining. It comes with its USB Type-C charging cable; the plug is not included. It carries a 3 year guarantee. We like it in pairs at either end of a sideboard, or alone beside a vase of dried stems, where the Teka base and white stone sit warmly with wood and linen.
