Description

The Rivale is a ceramic globe pendant light: a shallow ceramic dome with a softly ruffled rim, glazed in Red Iron, with a glass globe sitting beneath it. It is 21cm across and 8.5cm tall, a compact pendant that brings warmth and texture without crowding a room. You choose the metal finish, in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass or Satin Brass, and the glass, in Clear, Frosted or Opal. Clear glass lets the bulb show, while Frosted and Opal soften the light into a gentler glow. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one G9 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb (LED).

We like the Rivale over a dining table, where its 1m cable as standard lets it hang at a comfortable height above the table, and in a living room, over a side table or a reading corner, where the Red Iron glaze reads warm and earthy against plaster, timber and linen. Its modest size suits a single pendant above a small table as well as a row of them along a longer one. The ruffled rim catches the light and throws soft shadows across the ceramic, so it looks good lit or unlit. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor light.
