Description

The Riad flush ceiling light is a single clear glass globe, 25cm across, held close to the ceiling by a brass fitting. The globe sits in a brass gallery, fixed in place with small thumbscrews, beneath a short stem and a round ceiling plate. Altogether it is 32cm tall. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 60W; bulbs are sold separately, so the fitting is ready for whichever bulb you prefer. The metalwork comes in Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome, Satin Brass or Satin Chrome, so you can match it to the room.

A flush ceiling light earns its place in a hallway, where a long pendant could crowd the space and everyone passes beneath it many times a day. Held close to the ceiling, the Riad keeps the headroom clear while the clear glass globe lets the light spread freely across walls, stairs and doorways. In Antique Brass, Polished Brass or Satin Brass the fitting has a warm, traditional look; in Antique Silver, Polished Chrome or Satin Chrome it reads cooler and crisper, which suits grey or white schemes. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only.

Every Riad is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass. It is a mains fitting for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. When you choose your finish, think about the door handles, switches and other metalwork nearby: the clear globe lets the room show through it, so the metal sets the tone. Our photographs show the Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Brass, Polished Chrome and Satin Brass finishes.
