Description

The Riad is a flush ceiling light with a clear glass globe 20cm across, held close to the ceiling by a brass gallery and a round ceiling plate. It is 27cm tall in all, so it suits rooms where a hanging pendant would sit too low. It takes one E27 bulb, and bulbs are sold separately: choose one of up to 60W per bulb. Because the glass is clear, the bulb you choose becomes part of the look, and it shows through the globe as a bright point of light. It comes in six finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Polished Chrome, Satin Brass and Satin Chrome.

This glass globe flush ceiling light is a natural choice for a hallway, where headroom matters and one clear light greets you at the front door. Polished Brass and Satin Brass bring warmth to painted walls, Antique Brass and Antique Silver suit older houses and period detail, and Polished Chrome and Satin Chrome sit comfortably in cooler, paler schemes. Where a hallway is long, two or three spaced along the ceiling keep the light even from end to end. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only and for indoor use.

Each light is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass and glass, and finished in the version you choose. The globe sits in the gallery, held by small screws around its rim, below a neat round ceiling plate. It is a mains fitting, to be wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. When you choose your bulb, remember that the clear globe hides nothing, so pick one you are happy to see. Our photographs show the Polished Brass, Satin Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver and Polished Chrome finishes.
