Description

The Rex is a curved half-cylinder for an outside wall with two slot openings cut across the face, one arching up and one arching down. After dark it shows as two bright curved bands on the fitting, backed with white acrylic, while more light spills from the top rim and bottom lip to graze the wall above and below. By day the twin slots read as a quiet graphic on a rounded brown block, 250mm across and 130mm proud.

This is the coffee version, a warm die-cast aluminium body that sits kindly against timber, stone or a sand-toned render while the lit slots and twin wash carry the effect. It takes a standard E27 bulb, so brightness and warmth follow the lamp you fit, which suits a mellow doorway or a garden corner. Its patterned face works on a porch, a courtyard, a patio or a series stepped along a wall.

The body is powder-coated die-cast aluminium with white acrylic behind two curved slot apertures and along the edges, and it is rated IP54 against dust and splashing water for outdoor use. It accepts one E27 bulb up to 60W, which is not included, so you can choose an LED lamp at the colour temperature you prefer. It wires straight to the mains.

What kind of light does the Rex give?

Two glowing curved slots on the face plus a wash up and down the wall from the edges. The slot apertures make it a lit graphic rather than the plain closed version, so the fitting itself carries a pattern of light.

Does it take a bulb or is one included?

It takes one standard E27 bulb up to 60W, and a bulb is not included. You can fit an LED lamp at your chosen output, from a warm 2700K glow that suits the brown body to a cleaner 4000K white, and the slots take on that colour.

Is it suitable for outdoors?

Yes. It is rated IP54, sealed against dust and splashing water, so it suits a porch, a courtyard or a patio wall. As with any outdoor fitting it should be wired by a qualified electrician.
