Description

The Renata is a flat drum pendant light in matt black: a wide, shallow cylinder of aluminium hung from a textile cable. The shade is 30cm across and the fitting stands 22cm tall, with a 12cm canopy at the ceiling. A slim collar rises from the top of the drum where the cable enters, finished with a narrow gold-toned ring that stands out neatly against the black. Inside sits one E27 lamp holder, which means you choose the bulb yourself. Lamps are not included, so you will need an E27 bulb of your own.

Its low, broad profile gives a room a clear focal point without hanging heavy. We like it over a dining table, above a desk in a home office, on a landing or in a hallway, or hung beside the bed in place of a bedside lamp. The clean, geometric outline sits comfortably in modern and Scandinavian-style interiors, and matt black reads crisply against white or pale ceilings. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It is an on-off switched fitting rather than a dimmable one, so for softer evening light choose a lower-output or warm white bulb.

The structure is aluminium in a matt black finish, and the cable is textile-covered and 1.5m long, which is worth measuring against your ceiling height before you order. It runs on 220-240V mains and is for a qualified electrician to install. It carries a 2 year guarantee. As a styling note, hang a single Renata over a small round table, or run two or three in a line above a longer table, keeping them evenly spaced.
