Description

The Renata Bell Dome Pendant Light is a single dome of matt black aluminium, a clean half-sphere that hangs from a slim black stem on a textile cable. A narrow gold-toned ring sits where the stem meets the top of the dome, a small bright note against the black. The fitting is 28cm tall and 36cm across, with a 12cm round canopy at the ceiling and a 1.5m textile cable between the two. Inside there is one E27 lamp holder; the lamp is not included, so you choose the bulb, and its dome shade throws the light down onto the table or floor beneath.

At 36cm across, it sits over a dining table, beside a bed, or in a hallway, on a landing or in a living room corner, anywhere you want a defined pool of light rather than a wash across the ceiling. Its plain lines suit modern and Scandinavian rooms, and the matt black reads well against white or pale walls and alongside timber furniture. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. Hung on its own it makes a simple, confident centrepiece; several hung in a row over a longer table give an even, rhythmic line of light.

The structure is aluminium with a matt black finish, hung on a textile cable, and it carries a 2 year guarantee. It runs on 220-240V mains and is an on-off switched fitting, so it works from an ordinary light switch rather than a dimmer; as a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install. A warm white E27 bulb suits dining and living spaces, and a frosted or decorative lamp is worth choosing if you will see up under the shade. We like it hung low over a round table with oak or walnut chairs, where the gold ring catches the eye and the black dome frames the light.
