Description

The Remi is a modern table lamp that sets an opal glass lantern shade on a black marble base. The base is a plain cylinder of black marble with fine pale veining, 9.5cm tall and 8.5cm across. Above it sits the lantern shade, a rounded square in profile, 14cm tall and 12cm across, and the whole lamp stands 23.5cm tall. Inside is one G9 lamp holder. The G9 lamp is not included, so you choose one yourself, and the opal glass softens its light into an even, gentle glow.

At 23.5cm tall it is a compact lamp, sized for a bedside table, a hallway console, a bookshelf or the corner of a desk or sideboard. We see it as a mood lamp rather than task lighting: a soft glow in a living room in the evening, or beside the bed as you wind down. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only: living rooms, bedrooms, studies and hallways. The 2m textile cable gives you some freedom in where it sits, and the lamp is simply switched on and off, so there is no dimmer to match.

The base is black marble, the lantern shade is opal glass and the cable is covered in textile. It runs on 220-240V mains and carries a 3 year guarantee. The rounded corners of the shade soften the straight sides of the marble cylinder beneath it, and at 12cm across the shade sits just a little wider than the 8.5cm base. For styling, set it on a pale oak or white surface to let the black marble stand out, or use a pair on matching bedside tables either side of a bed; on a dark wood sideboard, the opal lantern becomes the bright point of the arrangement.
