Description

Ray Gold S is a round wall mirror 65cm across, ringed by small gold metal discs that interlock around the whole edge. They sit slightly proud of the glass, so they appear in the reflection as well as around it and the ring seems to carry on inside the mirror. The discs are placed at equal intervals, and that regularity is what makes the ring read as geometry rather than as decoration. The design is by Jeffrey Huyghe.

At 65cm this is the smallest size the design is made in, which puts it where a metre mirror will not go: a cloakroom, the wall beside a door, above a narrow shelf, or grouped with the larger sizes. It is rated bathroom proof. It hangs in one direction. The discs mean it wants a little clearance rather than being tucked against a corner, since the outline is wider than the glass. At 5kg it is the lightest mirror in the range we stock and easy to hang alone, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble.

The mirror is mirrored glass in a powder coated metal frame, which is a hard baked finish rather than a paint layer. Clean the glass with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth and dust between the discs with a dry brush rather than working a cloth into the gaps. The same design is made at 105cm and in a black finish. Sixty discs run around a 65cm circumference, so they sit closer together than on the larger size and the ring reads as a continuous band rather than as separate pieces. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
