Description

The Quark is a small recessed downlight that sets almost flush into a plasterboard ceiling and sends a single directed beam downward. It is built around an integrated LED behind an aluminium body finished in black, so the aperture reads as a neat dark circle against the plaster rather than a bright rim. At 58.5mm across it is a compact head, made to run in a line for even coverage or to pick out one spot below.

This version has a tilting head, so the beam can be angled off vertical to wash a wall, graze a texture or aim at a picture rather than only pointing straight down. The LED is fixed at a warm 3000K and gives 900 lumens over a 25 degree beam, with a colour rendering above 90, so paint, art and skin hold their tone closely under it. That accuracy and the fairly tight beam make it a good accent head over a picture, a shelf or a table, as well as a general downlight where the black ring keeps glare down.

The LED is built in and rated for around 50,000 hours, so there is no bulb to fit or replace. The head recesses into the ceiling and runs from a driver, which we can supply alongside so the fitting arrives ready to wire in. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

What kind of light does the Quark give?

A warm, directed pool. The integrated LED runs at 3000K over a 25 degree beam, 900 lumens, with a colour rendering above 90, so colours and skin tones read true. It lights a defined spot rather than the whole room.

Does the head move?

Yes. This is the adjustable version, so the head tilts within the ring and the beam can be aimed off vertical at a wall, a picture or a shelf rather than only straight down.

Is there a bulb to fit?

No. The LED is built into the body and rated for around 50,000 hours, so there is nothing to fit or replace. It wires to a driver, which we can supply alongside so it arrives ready to install.

How big is it and where does it suit?

The body is 58.5mm across and 80mm deep. Rated IP20 for dry rooms, the tilt and accurate light suit accent lighting over art or a shelf, or general light in a hallway or living room, in the black finish.
