Description
Quadrena takes the same flat alabaster panels used on the round drum and stretches them into a long rectangular bar. The panels sit in two tiers, the lower set stepped inboard of the upper, and slim brushed brass uprights hold them at every joint so the bar reads as a run of separate stones rather than one continuous shade. It measures 1130mm long by 200mm wide and 280mm deep, and hangs on two brass rods from a rectangular ceiling plate.
Lamping is E14 and the bar is open along its top and bottom edges, so light leaves upward onto the ceiling and downward onto the surface below as well as glowing through the stone. That is what makes it a working light over a dining table or an island rather than a decorative one. At 1130mm it covers a table for six to eight, and the twin rod suspension keeps it level along its length where a single point would let it pivot. The upper tier oversails the lower by a few millimetres, so a shadow line runs the whole length of the bar.
The frame is solid copper finished in brushed brass, warm rather than yellow, and every panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining runs differently through each one and no two bars are alike. Bulbs are supplied separately, which lets you choose the output and colour temperature that suit the room. Rated IP20 for interior use. Quadrena also comes in matt black, and as a 600mm round drum in both finishes for a smaller setting.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The lamping is E14 and bulbs are supplied separately, so you can choose the wattage and colour temperature that suit the room.
What size table does it suit?
At 1130mm long it covers a table for roughly six to eight. Over anything smaller the 600mm round drum in the same range sits better.
How is it suspended?
On two brass rods from a rectangular ceiling plate rather than a single central point, which keeps the bar level along its length. The rods give a 1000mm drop before any adjustment at installation.
Does every fitting look the same?
No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining and translucency differ from panel to panel, and no two bars are alike.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry interior locations only, so it should not be installed in a bathroom zone or anywhere it may meet moisture.
