Description
Quadrena builds its drum from flat rectangular panels of natural Spanish alabaster rather than bending a single shade into a cylinder, so the outline is faceted and each panel catches the light at its own angle. The panels sit in two tiers, the lower set stepped inboard of the upper, and slim brushed brass uprights hold them at every joint. The drum measures 600mm across and 220mm deep, and hangs on a 650mm brass stem from a hexagonal ceiling plate.
Lamping is E14 and the drum is open at the top and bottom, so light leaves upward onto the ceiling and downward onto whatever sits beneath it as well as glowing through the stone itself. That combination is what makes it a dining chandelier rather than a decorative one: it puts usable light on a table while the panels stay comfortable to look at. At 600mm it centres over a round table or a square one without crowding the setting. Unlit the panels read as pale stone in a warm frame; lit, the veining lifts and the two tiers separate.
The frame is solid copper finished in brushed brass, warm rather than yellow, and every panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining runs differently through each one and no two drums are alike. Bulbs are supplied separately, which lets you choose the output and colour temperature that suit the room. Rated IP20 for interior use. Quadrena also comes in matt black, and as a 1130mm linear bar in both finishes for a longer table.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does it take?
The lamping is E14 and bulbs are supplied separately, so you can choose the wattage and colour temperature that suit the room.
Why is the drum faceted rather than round?
The shade is built from flat rectangular panels of alabaster held in a brass frame rather than bent from one piece, so the outline steps between facets and each panel takes the light at a slightly different angle.
How far does it hang below the ceiling?
The drum is 220mm deep and hangs on a 650mm brass stem, so the fitting sits roughly 870mm below the ceiling plate before you account for any adjustment at installation.
Does every fitting look the same?
No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining and translucency differ from panel to panel, and no two drums are alike.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry interior locations only, so it should not be installed in a bathroom zone or anywhere it may meet moisture.
