Description

Pure M is an organic wall mirror 65cm wide and 78cm tall with a wide bevel running round the whole edge. The outline is a soft irregular oval, closer to a pebble than an ellipse, and the bevel is broad enough to read as a pale band inside the outline rather than as a chamfer you have to look for.

The bevel is the piece. It catches light at a different angle from the flat centre, so the edge of the mirror glows faintly against the wall and the shape gets an outline without needing a frame. That works best where light comes from the side rather than straight on. At this size it suits a cloakroom, a narrow hall or a spot above a basin, and the soft outline sits well against square tiles. It is rated bathroom proof and hangs one way up.

The whole piece is mirrored glass with nothing applied to it, which is unusually simple for this range and means there is no coating, print or leaf to wear. At 5kg and 2cm deep it is an easy one person hang on the two screws, washers and plugs supplied, with nothing to assemble. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a cloth rather than at the glass, and pay attention to the bevel, where a smear shows more than it does on the flat because the angle catches light. A 136cm version and a 150cm hall size are made. Because the outline is organic there is no correct orientation beyond the one it is hung in, and the fixing is single point, so it is worth turning it a little on the wall before you settle.
