Description

Pure L is a frameless wall mirror 136cm high by 95cm wide, cut to a soft organic outline with no straight edges anywhere on it. Around the whole contour runs a bevel 2cm wide, ground at an angle so that it catches light differently from the flat face and reads as a bright line following the shape. At 1cm deep there is nothing behind the glass and nothing around it, so the bevel and the outline are the entire design. The design is by Esther Everaert.

Frameless and pale, it does less to a room than a framed mirror and more for the light, which makes it useful where a heavier piece would crowd the wall: a small hallway, above a basin, a bedroom wall opposite a window. The bevel is what to position for, since it only shows when light crosses it, so a wall lit from the side gives far more than one lit flat on. It hangs in two directions. It is rated bathroom proof, so a bathroom is within its range. Two screws with washers and plugs are supplied and nothing needs assembling. At 13kg it is a one person lift, and at 1cm deep it sits as close to the wall as a mirror can. Other sizes are made in the same outline if a pair is wanted.

The mirror is a single piece of mirrored glass with a ground bevel and no frame or backing board. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, taking the cloth along the bevel rather than across it so the ground edge is not left streaked. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
