Description

The Promarne is a compact oval wall light for the outside of the house, in a clean white finish that sits quietly against brick, render or cladding. Both the body and the diffuser are plastic, and the opal diffuser spreads the light evenly so you see a soft glowing panel rather than a bright point. It measures 20.5cm long, 10.5cm wide and 5.5cm high. The light source is integrated LED, built into the fitting rather than a separate bulb, drawing 11.5W and giving 1,300lm. It carries an IP54 rating, which means it is protected against dust and splashing water, so it can live outdoors on a house wall through wind and rain.

This is a practical light for the places you walk past in the dark: beside a front or back door, along a side passage, on a balcony or a covered terrace, or by the garage. At 4000K the light is a neutral white, clear enough to find a keyhole, check a step or see who is at the door, and 1,300lm is a generous output for a fitting this size. Because the shape is simple and the finish is white, it suits a modern home as easily as an older one. We like a pair either side of a doorway for an even, balanced look.
