Description

The Prolbette is a three light cluster pendant in black, with a round steel ceiling canopy and three black cords that drop to smoked glass shades at staggered heights. Each shade is a different shape: one a rounded bell, one a wider, softer dome and one a taller tapered form. The glass fades from black at the top through grey to clear at the rim. It is 110cm tall overall and 43cm in diameter, and each shade takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W. The bulbs are not included, so you choose the light you prefer. This is a ceiling light for dry indoor rooms.

Hung over a dining table, the cluster gathers light where people sit and talk, and the staggered drop gives the eye something to follow without crowding the ceiling. It works as well above a kitchen island or in a hallway with good ceiling height. It suits anyone who wants three points of light from one ceiling connection, with more interest than a single shade. Because the glass darkens towards the top, a filament bulb shows through the clearer lower half as a warm glow, while the smoked upper half softens the glare. The black canopy and cords keep the look crisp against pale walls and natural timber, and suit monochrome or pared-back schemes alike.

The body, including the round canopy, is steel finished in black, and the shades are vaporised glass with a smoked gradient. There is no switch on the pendant itself: it is switched at the wall. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 3.746KG packed. As a wired-in mains light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. When you choose bulbs, keep each one to 40W or less, and pick a style with a pretty filament, since the clear lower glass puts it on display.
