Description

The Prism is a 165mm outdoor wall light built from die-cast aluminium with a black powder-coated finish and an IP44 weather rating. The rectangular body contains a single G9 bulb (sold separately) behind dual transparent Pyrex glass diffusers that direct light upwards and downwards onto the wall surface and ground below.

Designed for residential and commercial outdoor installation, the Prism suits entrances, covered porches, garage exteriors, courtyard walls and covered outdoor dining areas where IP44 protection against splashing water is sufficient. The up-and-down light pattern creates a visual anchor on the wall while providing functional light to doorways and pathways. The 65mm projection keeps the fitting clear of most wall-mounted door furniture and house numbers.

Die-cast aluminium construction gives the fitting resistance to corrosion and impact, and the black powder coating provides a durable finish that pairs with contemporary, industrial and minimalist architecture. The transparent Pyrex glass is thicker and more heat-resistant than standard glass, diffusing the G9 bulb's output to reduce glare while maintaining brightness for visibility. The dimmable G9 socket accepts halogen or LED capsule bulbs up to the maximum wattage specified in the table below.

What does IP44 mean for outdoor use?

IP44 means the fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, making it suitable for covered outdoor areas like porches, covered patios and under eaves. It is not rated for exposure to direct rainfall or water jets, so should not be installed on fully exposed walls without overhead cover.

What G9 bulb should I use?

The fitting accepts any standard G9 capsule bulb. Most users choose a warm-white LED G9 bulb between 2.5-4W and 2700K-3000K for outdoor use. The fitting is dimmable, so ensure the bulb is also rated as dimmable if pairing with a dimmer switch.
