Prism Outdoor Wall Light - Anthracite

The Prism is a 165mm-wide outdoor wall light with a die-cast aluminium body finished in anthracite powder coat, housing a single G9 bulb behind dual transparent satin-finish Pyrex glass diffusers. The rectangular housing casts light both upwards and downwards through separate glass panels, creating a balanced wash on the wall above and below the fitting.

Rated IP44 for protection against splashing water and solid objects above 1mm, the Prism suits covered porches, patio walls under eaves, front door surrounds and garden walls where direct heavy rain exposure is minimal. The 65mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact without compromising the bi-directional light throw. The G9 bulb (sold separately) allows flexibility to choose halogen, LED or filament depending on the desired colour temperature and output.

The die-cast aluminium construction resists corrosion and impact better than pressed sheet metal, while the anthracite powder coat provides a mid-grey finish that blends with modern render, brick and stone exteriors without the starkness of black or the maintenance demands of lighter colours. The Pyrex glass diffusers distribute light evenly without creating hotspots or glare directly below the fitting, making the Prism suitable for pathways and entrance areas where people walk close to the wall. At 165mm long the fitting provides noticeable illumination without dominating smaller architectural features.

What does the IP44 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP44 provides protection against splashing water from any direction and solid objects larger than 1mm. The Prism is suitable for covered outdoor locations such as porches, wall positions under eaves, and sheltered patios, but should not be installed where it will receive direct heavy rainfall or hose spray.

What bulb does it take and is one included?

The Prism takes a single G9 bulb up to the maximum wattage specified for the fitting. Bulbs are sold separately. G9 bulbs are available in LED, halogen and filament variants, allowing you to choose the colour temperature and output that suits your exterior lighting needs.

Is the light dimmable?

Yes, the fitting is dimmable when paired with a dimmable G9 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. Standard non-dimmable G9 bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

How does the dual diffuser design work?

The Prism has transparent satin-finish Pyrex glass panels on both the upper and lower surfaces of the rectangular housing. Light from the single G9 bulb inside is split to cast upwards onto the wall above and downwards onto the wall or ground below, creating balanced bi-directional illumination rather than a single focused beam.
