Description

The PowerMaster 16W LED gear tray is a replacement LED module for circular bulkhead fittings, delivering 1,725 lumens through an array of surface-mounted LEDs on a 243mm diameter aluminium PCB board. A rear-mounted CCT switch allows selection between three colour temperatures — 3000K warm white, 4000K cool white, or 6500K daylight — without replacing the module or bulb.

Designed as a direct-fit retrofit for existing emergency bulkheads or as a replacement module in commercial and domestic bulkhead luminaires, the gear tray fits standard 230mm-260mm bulkhead housings. The quick-fit push terminal accepts 3-way or 4-way wiring without tools, speeding installation in corridors, stairwells, utility rooms, plant rooms and commercial washrooms. The isolated driver and flicker-free output suit environments where consistent light quality matters, including offices, care homes and schools.

The aluminium PCB acts as both the circuit board and a heat sink, dissipating LED heat without external cooling components. The 120° beam angle provides even diffusion across the bulkhead diffuser, preventing hotspots or visible LED points. At 105-135 lumens per watt the gear tray runs efficiently on 16W input, and the CRI of >80 renders colours accurately enough for task lighting and corridor wayfinding.

Operating voltage is 220-240V AC/50Hz and the IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only. The gear tray operates between -10°C and +40°C, covering most UK indoor environments including unheated storage areas and roof voids. The 243mm x 30mm footprint and 0.21kg weight suit standard circular bulkhead backplates without additional structural support.

How is the colour temperature changed?

A switch on the rear of the gear tray allows selection between 3000K, 4000K and 6500K. The switch is set before installation or accessed by removing the bulkhead diffuser once fitted. Changing CCT does not require rewiring.

Is this a complete bulkhead or just the LED module?

This is the LED module (gear tray) only. It fits inside an existing circular bulkhead housing to replace an older fluorescent tube, CFL module or failed LED gear tray. The bulkhead housing, diffuser and backplate are sold separately.

What bulkhead housings does it fit?

The 243mm diameter fits most standard circular bulkhead housings designed for 230-260mm gear trays. Check the internal diameter of your bulkhead backplate before ordering. The quick-fit terminal is compatible with 3-way and 4-way emergency bulkhead wiring.

Can it be used in bathrooms or outdoor bulkheads?

No. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry indoor areas only (Zone 3). For bathrooms, outdoor bulkheads or damp environments, an IP65-rated gear tray is required.
