Description

The Planillo is a flush LED ceiling light built from three crossing shapes: a slim circular ring that carries the light, a wider elliptical ring and a straight bar, all held close to the ceiling by a neat rectangular plate. The body is aluminium and steel in a soft sand finish, and the ring's diffuser is white plastic, so the glow reads clean against the warm, sandy frame. It measures 55cm long, 27.5cm wide and 8.5cm high, and gives out 2,400 lumens, a generous output for a main ceiling light. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it sits flush rather than hanging, it suits rooms where a pendant would crowd the head height: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a living room with a standard ceiling. The sand finish is a neutral one, so it sits comfortably beside warm whites, taupes and natural wood without fighting them. If you want one ceiling light to serve as the main light and still look considered while it is unlit, we think it is a good choice, since the overlapping rings keep the shape interesting from across the room.
