Description

The Plafonet 60 is a wide, shallow drum ceiling light that sits close to the ceiling and spreads soft, even light across a room. It measures 60cm across at the top, narrowing to 54cm across at the base, and stands just 15cm tall. We offer it with three shades: White Translucent Ribbon, Cream Translucent Ribbon or White Cotton. The two ribbon shades are softly pleated, and a flat diffuser closes the underside, so the light falls evenly and the light source stays out of sight.

It makes a generous main light for a bedroom, hallway, landing, living room or dining room, and its low height suits rooms where a pendant would hang too far down. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms indoors only. You can choose between two light sources. The integrated LED version needs no bulb: it draws 39W, gives a warm 2700K light with a CRI of 90, so colours look true, and it is TRIAC dimmable, so it works with a compatible dimmer. The E27 version takes four E27 bulbs of up to 9W each, which are not included, so you choose the bulbs yourself. Its light output is 3829lm or 3888lm, depending on the version.

It is made of iron and brass, with a Class II protection rating. It runs on 230V mains power and is wired in to the mains by an electrician. Because it sits flush and shallow, it keeps a low ceiling feeling open, while the 60cm drum gives a larger room a light in proportion to its size. Whichever shade you choose, the drum reads as one soft circle of light when you look up at it. If you pick the E27 version, have four bulbs of up to 9W ready for the day it goes up.
