Description

The ZONA Mini-B is a compact passive infrared (PIR) motion sensor that switches connected lighting on when it detects movement and off again after the set delay. It runs on a 220-240V AC mains supply and measures just Ø76 × 21 mm, so it sits neatly on a ceiling or wall in a hallway, landing, stairwell or storeroom. The black plastic housing keeps it discreet against darker surfaces.

Rated IP20, it is built for dry indoor positions and should be kept clear of damp, splashes and exposed outdoor locations. Wire it in line with the lighting circuit it controls so the load switches automatically on detection. We also stock a wider range of motion and daylight sensors to suit other detection ranges and outdoor settings.

What is the detection range and angle?

This is a passive infrared sensor that responds to body heat moving across its field of view. Position it so the area you want covered falls within its line of sight, as PIR detection works best across the beam rather than straight towards it.

What is the maximum load it can switch?

Check the maximum switching load before connecting it to a lighting circuit, and keep the total wattage of the connected fittings within that figure. For larger loads, wire the sensor through a contactor or relay rather than switching the fittings directly.

Can the time and light settings be adjusted?

PIR sensors of this kind typically offer adjustable on-time delay and a daylight (lux) threshold so the light stays off when there is already enough ambient light. Set these on the unit to match how long you want the light to remain on and the level of darkness needed to trigger it.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is suitable for dry indoor use only. Keep it away from damp, splashes and exposed outdoor positions, and choose an IP44 or higher sensor for sheltered or external locations.
