Description
Pinnara hangs nine pointed cones from a round brass canopy, each on its own dark cord and each stopped at a different height. Every cone is a brass cap over a tapering body of natural Spanish alabaster that narrows to a point at the bottom, so the shape reads as a plumb bob or a spearhead rather than a shade. The cones measure 140mm across and 362mm long, the canopy is 700mm and the overall drop is 2250mm.
The lighting is integrated LED. Because the cone tapers, the stone is thickest at the shoulder and thinnest at the tip, and the light follows that: each cone is dimmest where the brass cap meets it and brightest at the point, so the nine of them read as a scatter of lit tips at staggered heights. The dark cords recede against a pale ceiling, which leaves the cones apparently floating.
The caps and canopy are brass, the internal structure is stainless steel, and every cone is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining differs from cone to cone and no two chandeliers are alike. At 2250mm this is a fitting for a stairwell, an atrium or a double height hall where the staggered drops can be read from more than one level. Rated IP20 for interior use. The cords are dropped individually at installation, so the staggering of the nine cones is set on site rather than fixed in the factory. Hung tightly the group reads as one mass; spread out, as nine separate points.

Frequently Asked
How many cones are there?
Nine. Each is 140mm across at the shoulder and 362mm long, tapering to a point, and each hangs on its own cord at a different height from a 700mm round canopy.
Why is the tip brighter than the top?
The cone tapers, so the stone is thickest at the shoulder and thinnest at the point. More light passes through the thin end, which is why each cone reads as a lit tip rather than an evenly glowing shade.
What ceiling height does it need?
The overall drop is 2250mm, so it suits a stairwell, an atrium or a double height hall where the staggered cones can be seen from more than one level.
Does every cone look the same?
No. Each is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining and translucency are unique to the piece and the nine on one fitting will not match each other.
Can it be used in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which covers dry interior locations only, so it should not be installed in a bathroom zone or anywhere it may meet moisture.
