Pilmine Glass Linear Pendant Light - Black & Brass

The Pilmine is a three-light linear pendant with a slim black steel bar along the ceiling and three rounded glass shades hanging beneath it on fine black cords. Each shade is vaporised glass that grades from smoky black at the crown through warm amber to clear at the rim, and each sits under a black holder finished with a brass ring. It measures 95cm long, 19cm wide and 110cm high overall. Each holder takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W, and the bulbs are not included, which leaves the choice of bulb with you. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

We think it belongs above a dining table, where the long bar carries all three shades from one ceiling fitting and spreads the light along the length of the table. It works just as well over a dining area in an open-plan room, or above a long sideboard in a living room, wherever the space is indoors and dry. A decorative filament bulb shows through the clearer lower half of each globe, so the bulb you choose becomes part of the look. The earthy tones sit comfortably beside wood, linen and warm neutrals, and the black and brass pairing holds its own against darker furniture too.

The body is steel, finished in black with brass rings on the shade holders, and the shades are vaporised glass in a black, brown and clear gradient. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, from the light switch you already have. As a light wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and it runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains. Can I use this pendant in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means it is made for indoor, dry rooms, so we would keep it to dining rooms, living rooms and other dry spaces.

What bulbs does the Pilmine take?

Each of the three holders takes an E27 bulb of up to 40W. The bulbs are not included, so you can pick the colour of light you prefer.
