Description

The Pignona is a floor lamp that stands 161cm tall, with a slim black steel stem rising from a round base 25cm in diameter. At the top sits a layered shade 50cm in diameter, made from textile thread drawn tightly across three tiers: a wide terracotta orange disc, a deep burgundy red tier and a small creamy white cone around the bulb holder. It takes a single E27 bulb, which is not included, so the brightness and colour of the light are yours to choose. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, well away from water.

Because the light passes through rings of fine cord rather than a solid shade, it reaches the room soft and filtered, and the layered tiers give the lamp depth even when it is unlit. That makes it a natural choice beside a sofa in the living room, in the corner of a bedroom or next to a favourite reading chair, wherever you want a gentle pool of light in the evening rather than a bright overhead one.
