Description

The Pianopoli is a ceiling pendant light that gathers fifteen small lights into one cluster of clear glass flowers. A round chrome ceiling plate holds a fan of fine suspension wires, and at the foot of each hangs a chrome half dome beneath petals of faceted brilliant glass. The body is stainless steel in a bright chrome finish, and the light measures 50cm across and 110cm high overall, so it wants a room with a generous ceiling height. Each of the fifteen lights is an integrated 2.5W LED giving 270lm at 3000K, a warm white glow. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors and dry, in living rooms, dining rooms, halls and bedrooms, never a bathroom and never outdoors.

We would hang it where people can look up at it: over a dining table, in a stairwell or a tall hallway. The faceted glass petals catch the light and throw small sparkles and soft reflections across the walls nearby, so the pendant draws the eye whenever the LEDs are lit. Because the drops hang at different heights in a loose, rounded cluster, it reads as one decorative light rather than a row of separate pendants. It suits anyone who wants a centrepiece with plenty of sparkle and the ease of integrated LEDs, with no bulbs to buy.

The LEDs are replaceable, so a failed LED can be changed without replacing the whole light.
